instead of unauthorised comic book or disney characters the ride
is garish with catholic iconography jesus holds his stigmata’d hands
out over the seats and our lady of mercy stares bosseyed from above
the control booth thank god her top isn’t cut any lower i hope the carnies
are actually catholic not santerian shifting nervously in my chicken costume
while the couple in line behind me stuff rented cassocks into their rucksacks
soon all the image appropriation makes me nauseous so i wander off
trying to find my friends hilarity ensues come meet us
we’re by the funnel cakes near the stuffed animals
